About
Named after Pierre Teilhard de Chardin, a French paleontologist and Catholic priest interested in the study of creation, The Chardin Collective serves as a dynamic hub for numerous projects with a common, ambitious goal: to democratize expertise in creation/evolution topics in the most effective, efficient, and accessible way possible. Our central focus is the exploration of young-Earth creationist perspectives – we approach them with respect, and recognize the sincerity and faithfulness of those who hold them as we aim to engage with their arguments in good faith. At the same time, we maintain that young-Earth creationism is neither a necessary nor constructive position, and that its foundational arguments warrant serious criticism.
For young-Earth creationists, we aim to “steel-man” their position by identifying weaker arguments and encouraging them to build a more coherent model. For proponents of evolution, we provide research tools that can deepen their appreciation of creation. And for believers of all perspectives, we strive to offer a space where theological and scientific conversations about origins can unfold with clarity, respect, and intellectual honesty.
